£379.00

Tests are available to registered 1:1 clients only.

The GI EcologiX is a cutting edge gut health and microbiome stool test which includes markers with significant research associated with chronic health conditions whether via SCFA production, oxalate degradation, hydrogen sulfide production, enterotoxin expression and/or clinical associations with conditions such as IBS, IBD, CRC, autoimmunity, and neurodegeneration.

Description

Invivo, one of our most microbiome-centred diagnostics and therapeutics partner laboratories have developed the GI EcologiX™ Gastrointestinal Health and Microbiome Profile, a ground-breaking tool for analysis of gastrointestinal microbiota composition and host immune responses.

GI EcologiX is a comprehensive gastrointestinal health and microbiome profile by Phylo Bioscience, a CQC laboratory in Bristol.

This test replaces the GI-MAP.

GI EcologiX™ uses quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to provide an accurate, reliable and quantifiable measurement of microbiota abundance and human inflammatory markers. This provides our nutritional therapist with insight into gut function and immune balance.

The profile detects:

Healthy gastrointestinal microbiome (homeostasis of host and microbiome)
Gastrointestinal dysbiosis detected (imbalance of the GI microbiota and/or host immune response)
Gastrointestinal pathogens detected (bacteria and amoebae)

Tests need to be booked in conjunction with a suitable nutrition consultation to help you understand what the test results mean for you and what you can do to support your gut health.

This GI EcologiX stool analysis test provides information on the following markers of digestive or gastrointestinal health or imbalance;

  • Beta Defensin 2
  • Calprotectin
  • Elastase
  • Secretory IgA
  • Zonulin
  • Commensal bacteria
  • Bacteroides sub-group
  • Clostridium sub-group
  • Opportunistic bacteria
  • Sulfidogenic bacteria
  • LPS forming bacteria
  • Mycology
